What is niche market

Some business owners have been able to define their niche market. This means they have a clear picture of whom it is they are marketing to. But unfortunately there are others that tend to waiver or be unsure of their niche market.
.
Often, many business owners view that bringing in the idea of a niche market means narrowing their sales or cutting into a profit margin, so they fear it. I see such people as not yet able to define what niche market is and the benefits in it.

A niche market could be defined as a component that gives your business power. Niche marketing simple means being able to define who you are marketing to and staying focus on them. When you know who you are marketing to, it's easy to determine where your marketing effort and money should be spent.

When I first started out with online business, few years ago, I struggled to know what my niche is so as to stay put. I went through programs and bought almost all the offers i see in my in box. But did enrolling in every internet business solve my problem? Soon i ran out of gas and had not enough money left to pay the bill for the next month. These days I find it much easier and I want to share some tips on this for you all today.

Firstly, did i say your best niche market is what you know how to do and love doing? Maybe yest but it’s too expensive and usually a very difficult task to try develop and bring your own niche to the market. It’s better to identify and plan with an existing niche that has a good potential for using your unique service or product

Here are the first three steps you must take to find your niche:
  1. Assess or research yourself - Look inward and determine what areas of life you are most passionate and interested in and see how it will interface with what product or service you intend to render or sell..
  2. Assess or research your potential market - Taking this step before you start helps you determine if there is a good market for your service or product. A good way to achieve this is by surveying people in your targeted area or  community through talk (best method is social media, thanks to the many networking sites like facebook). Another is to join groups of people who have similar interests such as health clubs, little league boosters, soccer clubs or at car racing activities to find out what they have to say. You could find a good clue.
  3. Check the income - No matter the love you have in doing a thing, it will still be frustrating if its not fetching you money enough to pay the bills. Once you find a promising niche, then determine if you can be comfortable with the anticipated income from it, otherwise find something close to it that will bring good income.
  4. Keyword research - This is a great way to know your market. I mean the demand of that product or service and also importantly, the competition. Use keyword tools such as the
overture suggestion tool or wordtracker  to how many people are searching each month on keywords related to your niche product, and see how you can take advantage ahead of your competitors..

    Here's an example:

According to overture (at the time of writing this article), the keyword phrase "camping equipment" was
searched 76164 times in one month. If you do a search on Google.com for camping equipment you will find 1,610,000 web sites up on the web for that keyword - heck, that's too competitive.

However "coleman camping equipment" generated 1242 searches in one month according to overture. Google.com shows 93,200 competing websites. That's much better though still somewhat
    competitive.

Tip: Notice how not many web sites (even the top ones),
don't have "coleman camping equipment" in their titles.
This is just one way to create a high ranking on the search
engines for your newly targeted web site. This will then
provide lots of targeted traffic to your site.
  5. Start a niche profit class - Time is one factor that counts even more than money. You can do it yourself but it can be time consuming. Still, you need a good training program that will take you step by step and help you jump all the failure needed through self trial to get to success. Niche Profit Classroom is one program i talk about all the time. To avoid putting all your hopes into one basket, I recommend developing several niches rather than having to depend on one. But the key here is to first become a master in one niche and ensure its running on auto-pilot before you start a new niche. And also if you are a person that is permanently glued to clickbank market-place, my advise for you is to look to other networks.

In particular networks that offers physical goods. there is a huge potential for marketing physical products, something I too love to do!

A lot of people have a wrong idea about selling physical goods online. And one of such is the frequent question "aren't the commission too low with physical goods?"?

The short answer to this question is “NO!!” I get regular daily commissions of $75 on physical goods. There are some merchants that give you 50% commission on physical goods, although most are lower than this, but 4-10% is quite normal.

The thing you have to know and  remember about physical products is that their prices are usually higher than a Clickbank digital products, such that the commission for selling one product can cover over five ebooks sold on clickbank. So you can make great commissions still, even if the sales payout is 4% like Amazon (although this goes up to 6% pretty fast) the commission is quite high.

Anotgher question is "Isn’t It Too Hard to Get Accepted by the Networks?"?

Again my answer to this is “No” it’s not that hard. Sure some CPA networks can be a little tougher to get into, but most physical product networks I’ve joined are easy to get accepted into. If you ever have any problems just pick up the phone and call them and explain to them your plan and you’ll get into 99% of them right there on the phone. I know someone who has succeeded by this method many times. Better still Amazon is a great place to start up with as an associates and its easy to register with amazon and they have great and large product range.
